My client has been one of the UK’s largest and most recognised recruitment organisations with offices in 5 locations for the past 40 years. They are preferred suppliers to many organisations across the aerospace, automotive, construction, energy and utilities and rail and electronics sectors. They offer a range of solutions to some of the largest engineering companies, from onsite management and full outsource solutions to contingency based permanent recruitment. They have seen turnover increase by 50% in the past 2 years and are looking to expand further to capitalise on market growth. Predominantly a supplier in blue-collar engineering staff they also have an expanding white-collar engineering offering. They have an extensive and loyal client base and need to maximise provision to these long term customers. The company has a proven track record in engineering recruitment solutions and a well respected brand name.
To enable future growth they are looking to recruit an Engineering Divisional Manager to run and manage their head office recruitment team based near Heathrow, Middlesex. This office is the major hub of the business and predominantly covers work in the aerospace, automotive, built environment (construction) and power and utilities sectors. The role is a non-billing “hands on” management position managing up to six direct reports (Team Leaders) and an extended team of 25 consultants at all levels from trainee to principal level. The team is performing well but needs further development and guidance. It will have profit and loss responsibility, a key focus on staff development, recruitment and skill enhancement.
The ideal candidate must have a stable and proven track record in recruitment management with a demonstrable track record of hiring, training and retaining staff. Experience in high volume engineering recruitment would be highly beneficial but is not a pre-requisite. A high level of customer service, honesty and integrity is also essential. It will also require a non-aggressive, supportive and motivational management style. There will be no direct client responsibility but supporting the team in developing accounts, new business and maintaining relationships is of course of prime importance. 95% of the current work is in blue-collar engineering recruitment but there are plans to increase their white-collar provision.
On offer is a very competitive and rewarding package with bonus based on office profit growth with an expected on target earnings of between £80k and £100k in the first year. Most importantly, this is an opportunity to work with a recognised and well respected engineering recruitment brand and to run and manage a successful and high performing office and recruitment team.
Usual benefits such as car allowance, expenses, 10% contributory pension, healthcare and flexible working.
