Education Recruitment Consultant (Learning Support) - London, City - £18k - £25k basic + Commission

My client are looking for andesk by placing Learning Support Staff into Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools across Greater London.  Learning Support Staff include Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Learning Mentors, Technicians, School Admin Staff and Cover Supervisors.

The successful Consultant will manage the Thames Teachers candidate base by targeting candidates through advertising and marketing, interviewing and relationship building with existing candidates.  They will also service schools in their given London boroughs and areas as well as developing business to win new clients (schools) in those areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Candidate relationship building – with existing candidates
  • Candidate resourcing – Primary, Secondary, SEN LSAs to place into London schools 
  • Client Account Management – servicing my clients current schools, providing daily and long-term staff according to their needs throughout the academic year
  • Business Development - growing the number of clients in your geographical area (cluster of boroughs) and servicing these new schools
  • Managing and selecting applicants through my clietns various advertising methods
  • Creating and placing adverts to place on the company website, job boards, etc 
  • Using various marketing methods to promote candidates to schools. Eg: e-marketing 
  • Contributing towards the management of the company website, Blogging and Social Media 
  • Interviewing candidates and briefing consultants in the same Division as well as writing candidate profiles for marketing to schools

My client are looking for two candidates who will be working as part of a team of Teaching Support Recruiters. The role requires someone who has excellent social skills and a professional manner with the ability to build relationships with candidates and clients, both existing and new. Candidates must have previously worked within a Sales or targeted environment.

The successful candidate will be highly organised and will be able to multi-task in a varied and fast-paced role. The role requires consultants with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a creative flair. Candidates must be individuals who will thrive in a target-driven role with excellent rewards.  It is essential that candidates are confident enough to generate new business by calling and visiting schools to establish good relationships.  

You will enjoy hard, but rewarding work in a fast-paced, competitive industry.

Clearly it is expected that successful candidates may be required to work additional hours during busy periods and as the job requires, likewise there are generally significantly reduced hours over the school holiday periods
25 days holiday - 5 days maximum can be taken over term time and the remainder taken over school holidays.

Experience and knowledge:

  • A good understanding of UK Schools and National Curriculum
  • Someone from a sales or targeted environment 
  • Excellent communication skills – written and spoken
  • Good IT skills
  • Degree educated
  • An understanding of the 360 Recruitment Cycle
